Meet me in the mountains
Of Oregon
(Washington’s been having too many fires).
It won’t be hard to find me-
Just look for the earthship,
There aren’t too many.
And the big plot of land
All set up for you to garden
Your fruits and veggies.
What kind will you grow?
I love garden tomatoes!
Will you plant some for me?

If you still can’t find the place,
Not sure which earthship
With a large garden
In the mountains
Of Oregon…

Look for the one
With lots of land,
The one with the big fence around it.
Now I don’t like the thought
Of a fence-
Sounds so confining,
And you know I just want to be free-
But there’s a lot of land,
And it’s to keep all the animals in.
It’ll blend in with the trees,
We’ll barely notice it.
As for the animals,
I haven’t gotten them yet-
I want you to pick each one out
Special, with love.

Now if you still can’t find the place,
Still not sure which earthship
With a large garden
In the mountains
Of Oregon,
With lots of land
And a big fence around it…

Look for the one
With the stables-
That’s for the horses
You’ll ride all day long.
Now I haven’t gotten the horses yet either-
I want you to pick each one of them out
Special, with love too.
And I haven’t forgotten
That at night
You want to play guitar-
So inside the earthship
Is a tiny music room
With both an acoustic and electric
For whatever mood you’re in
(And I love all your moods).

Now if you still can’t find the place,
Still not sure which earthship
With a large garden
In the mountains
Of Oregon,
With lots of land
And a big fence around it,
With stables for horses
And a tiny room with guitars…

Look for the one
With the writing den-
It’ll have a large window
Overlooking the other side
Of the mountains.
The view will be breathtaking!
This is for you to write your books
And make just enough money
To live your simple, quiet life.

Now if you still can’t find the place,
Still not sure which earthship
With a large garden
In the mountains
Of Oregon,
With lots of land
And a big fence around it,
With stables for horses
And a tiny room with guitars,
And a writing den
Overlooking the other side
Of the mountains…

Look for the one
With the Led Zeppelin albums inside
And the hundreds of horror movies.
Look for the one
With the Mint Chip and Tin Roof Sundae in the freezer
And waffle bowl cones in the closet.
Look for the one
With the claymation and stop-motion
And the one with all the weapons and rosaries.
Look for the one
With the Bride of Frankenstein knicknacks
And the werewolf photo on the wall.
Look for the one
Playing Incubus’s “Stellar”
And Blindside’s “Roads”.
Look for the one
With the seafood
(No me gusta seafood!)
And the cupboards full of coffee and tea.
Look for the one
That seems almost disturbing
Yet also invokes a feeling of peace.
Look for the one
That feels heavy metal
Yet also serene and spiritual.
Look for the one
That feels right.
Look for the one
That feels perfect.
And look for the one
With the most spectacular view
Of the night sky-

And then look up at that sky.
And look at the moon-

Now you have found the place.

Meet me in the mountains
Of Oregon,
My love.
It is there I will be waiting for you.

The listing requires dimensions, and so there is the inevitable internal struggle. Laziness. Disorganization… Cannot find the measuring tape. Can she guess its proper size?
